Teri Lee Exhibition October 9 – 15
When I first saw Teri Lee’s carved surfboards I knew I was looking at something special.
Almost immediately I decided to offer Teri the use of the Saltmotion Gallery to exhibit his work.
Each board recreates a story in Polynesian style. Teri deciphers the important points to include in the design, then creates these amazing carvings from the foam core of a surfboard.
Teri is from Wairarapa of Aotearoa (New Zealand) and now resides on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. He began carving surfboards in traditional Polynesian designs in 2009 and has since carved boards for a substantial list of clients including the board Tom Carol infamously broke his leg riding in ‘The Eddie’, Hawaii’s premier big waves surfing contest.
Teri’s artwork will be on display at the Saltmotion Gallery from the 9th to the 15th October 2012. These works are truly amazing and you should not miss your opportunity to see them.
