Our online media room provides media professionals with quick and easy access to content about Saltmotion and founder, Joel Coleman.

Business Profile: In 2007 Joel Coleman founded Saltmotion as a platform to share photos with friends. Word of mouth grew the online audience quickly and, within 12 months, Joel’s hobby was producing an income as more and more people purchased his photos online. A highly successful solo exhibition in 2009 motivated Joel to open a permanent gallery space and Manly, his home town, was chosen for the location with doors opening in June 2010.

Since opening, Saltmotion Gallery has enjoyed the private performance of Richard Tognetti, along with the in-gallery screening of Tognetti’s ‘Musica Surfica’, has exhibited the 1960’s images of respected-surfer Rusty Miller, welcomed surf legends such as Bob McTavish, Derek Hynd and film maker Jack McCoy to the gallery and includes surfing celebrities such as Bethany Hamilton as his customers.
