Blue Kiss
August 19th, 2010
A whole bunch of young hot shots all with a head full of steam and a desire to prove themselves on the competition circuit took over the line up this morning. Warming up for the Blue Kiss, Dripping Wet juniors competition that is running for the next few days. For me the best part of any surf contest is getting to photograph the free surfing that takes place around the heats. No rules, no stress, just a bunch of surfers trying all their biggest moves. This morning was no different as we were treated to a pretty fine display of surfing.
Although today’s photos might suggest the surf was pumping, its not. In fact it is a pretty weak short period wind swell from the NE. The winds look to be offshore all day so consider a board with a bit more foam than normal if you’re keen for a wave. With sunshine and 23c temps its worth a splash…
There are plenty more photographs in the filmstrip from today (over 60) so click through and check them all out.
p.s. If you like what you see, send the link on to your friends…
Enjoy your day,
