“It is art that makes grand our own stupid lives” – Something special to announce today, on Sunday the 8th of August we are screening a film at the saltmotion gallery and café called Musica Surfica. Featuring truly inspirational surf footage and blended with the amazing musical talents of Richard Tognetti, Satu Vanska & Julian Thompson, this film is quite unlike any ‘surf film’ previously produced. In fact branding it a ‘surf film’ is altogether wrong, as it is so much more. Richard, Satu & Julian will also be performing live prior to the film, an intimate performance of this nature by musicians of this calibre is something you don’t want to miss. Tickets are limited and available from the gallery only.
Today’s surf – when the surf report states: “we are really starting to scrape the bottom of the barrel” you can either a) get excited thinking there are huge hollow waves on offer. Or b) realise the swell is totally missing us and take out your log and spend some time trying to ride the nose!… Beautiful day though and much warmer than the last few weeks!… (come on spring)
