Searching for something better can produce results, or it can burn a lot of petrol! First I checked Curl Curl, which was showing good size, but all over the place. Next stop Dee Why – looking good but I think there might be something better a little further north. Back in the car past Long Reef, then a sniff at Warriewood before checking Mona vale – from two spots just to be sure, nothing there so over to Avalon where I managed to photograph the sunrise. Ok now I had at least achieved something! Thinking the whole mission was turning out to be fruitless I started heading back south – stoped at Narrabeen and watched a couple of guys surf some close outs then drove back to Dee Why and spent about half an hour taking photos before heading home to post this update…. Moral of the story, when you find waves, don’t be greedy, stay there! (But you might miss out on something better)
