Da’ Moon
June 30th, 2010
A phone call at 7:30pm last night to say grab a camera and go look at the moon was much appreciated. Spectacular colours considering it was night time. A few 30sec. exposures and I was done though as standing outside in the cold was far from fun. This morning we are still stuck in this cold snap and the run across the beach to the water is enough to freeze a few toes off! The swell has dropped a little since yesterday and there are now 1 – 2 foot sets pushing through in nice clean straight lines. The longboarders were getting the pick of the waves early and as the tide pushes in some pretty thick foam will probably be your only option.
Enjoy you day,
Joel Coleman…

Hello,
My fiance (an avid surfer and Manly local) forwards me your emails most days – and I really enjoy looking at them. I also take joy in forwarding them to colleagues who don’t live near our spectacular beaches. In fact, I have come to rely on you for capturing our spectacular sun rises. I start work too early to get down to the beach so I look forward to seeing the sunrise via your emails.
Hence the reason I am writing. Where were you this morning? I suspect there was an awesome sunrise as I saw shades of red from our back balcony just before rushing to catch my bus in to the city. Not to worry, I thought to myself, I’ll see it on Saltmotion. Alas, alack, nothing. Did you have a sleep in? Or did you get complacent after capturing the moon last night?
This is not an abusive email (I read your comments policy), just a fun dig at you for letting down one of your admirers.
Regards,
Rochelle.

Hey Rochelle,
To ensure you are still happy I have just emailed you a few photos of today’s sunrise.
I got chatting to a friend whilst checking the surf, only just managed to get over the hill in time to fire off a few quick frames.
Have a great day,
Joel.
